Rev. Joanna began serving as Minister of Unity Light of the World in September, 2010.  She is a native of Toledo, Ohio and has lived in Florida for 6 years.

 

An enthusiastic, inspirational and healing presence, “Rev. J,” as she is affectionately called, motivates audiences to raise levels of understanding, praise and joy using Unity principles, scripture, stories, and song. She is a singer/songwriter with a "theology of song" in which she sees “song” as a metaphor for life and has traveled across the country and as far away as Hawaii, Bahamas, Jamaica, and Ghana, West Africa to sing and share her Christ message. Rev. Joanna has written poetry and two inspirational books: The StarPower Process: Surviving Thriving Arriving Reviving by following your inner star and Your Life is Your Song: Raising the Bar on Self Esteem.

 

She has an Associate in Business Administration, B.A. Religious Studies, two years toward a Masters of Divinity, and completion of studies and ordination at Barbara King School of Ministry in Atlanta, Georgia. Rev. Joanna attended Unity Urban Ministerial School in Detroit, Michigan and Unity School of Practical Christianity in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Ordained as Unity Minister in 1992, she has served ministries in Nebraska, Georgia, Ohio, and Florida.

 

Rev. Joanna has a ministry of presence and is passionate about assisting individuals to heal from within. She says, “Life is a journey of discovery, uncovery, and recovery". It is in a spiritual communiity that we can find out way home to wholeness. Her delight is to impart hope and walk with and alongside those who desire greater understanding and freedom. “Hope is like a bird that senses dawn and carefully starts to sing while it is still dark."
